Cookie Policy
This document is our cookie policy, through which we wish to explain to you what cookies are and what they are used for.
- What are cookies?
As clarified by the Privacy Guarantor in the FAQs of December 2012, cookies are “small text files” – composed of letters and numbers – “that websites visited by the user send to their terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored to be then re-transmitted to the same sites upon the subsequent visit by the same user“. Cookies serve to streamline the analysis of web traffic or signal when a specific site or part of it is visited, to distinguish visitors from one another to provide personalized content, and help administrators improve the site and the navigation experience of the users themselves. Through cookies, we cannot access other information stored on your device, even though it is where cookies are downloaded. Cookies cannot load code of any kind, convey viruses or malware, and are not harmful to the user’s terminal.
Below you can find all information about the cookies installed through this site and the necessary instructions on how to manage your preferences in this regard. - User consent to the use of cookies
Connecting for the first time to any page of our site, you will see an information banner regarding the use of cookies that will allow you to manage your installation preferences.
The site remembers the choice made, therefore the short notice will not be presented again on subsequent connections from the same device.
Should technical problems arise regarding the provision of consent, you can contact us via email at the address found within the privacy policy linked in the footer of our site. - Duration of cookies
Based on the nature of cookies, they can be stored on your device for longer or shorter periods. Cookies can be:
- session cookies, which are stored in a non-persistent manner on your computer and are erased upon closing the browser; they are strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers necessary to allow safe and efficient exploration of our site, avoiding the use of other IT techniques potentially prejudicial to the confidentiality of user navigation;
- persistent cookies, which remain stored on the computer’s hard drive until their expiry or deletion by users/visitors. Through persistent cookies, visitors accessing the site (or any other users using the same computer) are automatically recognized at each visit. You can also set your computer’s browser to accept/reject all cookies or to display an alert whenever a cookie is offered, in order to evaluate whether to accept it or not. You can still modify the default configuration and disable cookies (i.e., block them permanently), setting a higher level of protection.
- Types of cookies
Cookies can be:
- first-party, i.e., cookies that report this website as their domain;
- third-party, i.e., cookies that relate to external domains.
Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an external subject, always defined as a “third party”, not managed by the site.
- Nature of cookies
Regarding the nature of cookies, there are different types:
- Technical cookies: these are used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide such service” (cf. Art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code). They are not used for further purposes and are installed directly by the owner or manager of the website. They can be subdivided into:
- navigation or session cookies, which guarantee normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); they are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site;
- analytics cookies (first-party), assimilated to technical cookies where used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself, in order to improve site performance;
- functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a set of selected criteria (for example, language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to them. For the installation of such cookies, prior user consent is not required (more information in the Cookie Management section below).
- Analytics cookies (third-party): this type of cookie is not used directly by the site manager, but is created and made available to third parties for statistical purposes. The site does not have direct control over individual cookies and cannot control them (it can neither install them directly nor delete them).
- Profiling cookies: these are aimed at creating profiles related to the user and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user during web navigation. For the use of profiling cookies, the consent of the data subject is required.
- Cookies present on this site and revocation of consent
This website uses cookies. The cookies specifically installed on this site can be viewed by consulting the “cookie configuration” link located in the footer (at the bottom of any page consulted). Through the same section, you will be able to enable and disable cookies at any time.
